African Extracts wow’s us again with their Classic Care skincare range
by Anje Hill

As the whole world moves to more natural green options, free from nasties, it’s such a blessing that we have a local brand like African Extracts keeping up with the times. Their products do not contain parabens or plastic microbeads that are harmful to our oceans and rivers and are endorsed by Beauty Without Cruelty.

I’ve recently had the privilege of trying their range out, and I’m so glad I did. I have dry, sensitive skin and have been suffering with hormonal breakouts since I had my lastborn. I also battle to find products which don’t make my skin flare up but still offer me all the care I require.

Here are my thoughts on their Classic Care range:
African Extracts Rooibos Soothing Cleansing Lotion

Loved using this product, my skin was instantly soft, refreshed and smooth, removing all impurities. The rooibos and chamomile soothed my irritated skin immediately. I also like the fact that it’s non-greasy as I hate having to have to wash the product off my hands after use. The smell of rooibos is just delightful and adds to feeling fresh and clean.
Comes in a 250ml bottle – so it’s long lasting – I’m still using my first batch.

African Extracts Rooibos Refreshing Toner

My absolute favourite product out of this range! Alcohol-free and also non-greasy, easy to apply to a cotton ball, instantly refreshes, firms and soothes my thirsty skin, leaving my face toned without feeling tight. Love, love, love the rooibos fragrance! Enriched with Rooibos and witch hazel.

Comes in a 250ml bottle.

African Extracts Rooibos Moisturising Day Cream SPF15

Nothing better than applying this moisturiser to your skin after using the cleansing lotion and refreshing toner. Comes across as greasy right after application but my skin is matte and perfectly prepped for makeup application. Works well with my liquid foundation. Enriched with rooibos extract and vitamin C & E to nourish and protect the skin from harsh environmental factors.
Comes in a 75ml tube – a little goes a long way.
*My toddler also enjoyed applying a quarter of the tube to his face. LOL

African Extracts Rooibos Tissue Oil

A blend of sweet almond, grape seed and geranium with rooibos extract and vitamin E, great to use on all the damage the breakouts have left behind. Unlike other tissue oils I have used in the past it nourished my skin and sunk in and didn’t end up sitting on top of it. Gorgeous smell, geranium isn’t overpowering and comes in an easy to use
60ml spray bottle.

African Extracts Rooibos has been looking after our skin for close to 16 years this year, and besides the fact that I love the main ingredient in all their products I find my skin really does love it, too! Really affordable and stocked at most stores, definitely value (and superb quality) for your money!
