Launching on 5 October, Radisson Collection Hotel, Waterfront Cape Town introduces Tea Tides, a weekly afternoon tea experience set against panoramic ocean views.
High tea is experiencing a resurgence in Cape Town, but Tea Tides offers a distinctly coastal spin, elegant and unhurried, with the Atlantic as your backdrop. It’s ideal for birthdays, catch-ups with friends, or even a solo reset away from the city bustle.
What sets Tea Tides apart is the thoughtful curation of teas from fragrant Masala Chai to the delicate balance of Dung Ti Oolong, each tea can be expertly paired with the menu’s sweet and savoury delights. Guests can choose between two packages: one built around tea (R550) and another with bubbles (R950).
Under the expert guidance of new Chef Craig Hibbert, Tea Tides promises to deliver an unparalleled high tea experience. “My favourite part about hosting high tea at the Radisson Collection will be the sense of occasion it brings; it’s not just a meal, it’s an experience,” says Chef Hibbert. “I love the attention to detail, from the elegant presentation of the pastries and scones to the balance of flavours across the tiers.”
Chef Hibbert’s’s culinary background, rooted in five-star hospitality and specialising in pastry and bakery, will undoubtedly shine through in the Tea Tides menu. As he notes, “High tea isn’t just about elegance, it’s about comfort and that personal touch.” The experience is further enhanced by the beautifully crafted crockery, which is locally produced in collaboration with Mervyn Gerys, showcasing the hotel’s commitment to supporting local artisans.
